Question

Unpaid NHI Premiums and Reprinting Payment Bills

Answer
Q: How can an insured unit check unpaid NHI premiums?
A: You can visit the NHI Administration’s “Reprint Payment Bill for Insured Units” service to download the payment bill. The default password for the downloaded PDF payment bill is the insured unit’s identification number.
Note: The system only provides payment bills that are still within the premium payment grace period. For insured units that receive a combined bill every two months, payment bills are generated in even-numbered months, and no file will be available in odd-numbered months.

Q: How can I request a replacement payment bill?
A: If the payment bill is lost or damaged, you can request a replacement using one of the following methods:
  1. Print online: Visit the NHI Administration’s “Reprint Payment Bill for Insured Units” service and download the payment bill.
  2. Request by phone: Call the toll-free service hotline at 0800-030-598 from a landline or 02-4128-678 from a mobile phone. You may also contact the relevant NHI Administration regional division and request a replacement through customer service or the automated telephone service.
  3. Request in person: Bring the company stamp and the person in charge's identification document to an NHI Administration regional division service location to request a replacement payment bill.

Q: Can I apply for an electronic NHI premium payment bill?
A: Yes, you can apply for an electronic NHI premium payment bill through either of the following methods:
  1. Multi-Certificate Online Enrollment System: Log in using the registered NHI IC card or Citizen Digital Certificate of the authorized representative. Select “Electronic Payment Bill Application and Inquiry” to apply for and download the current month's electronic payment bill.
  2. NHI Administration Online Services for Enrollment: Log in using the insured unit's identification number, authorized representative's ID number, and password. Under “Form Application,” select “Application for Automatic Delivery of Payment Bills and Various Forms and Reports for the Next Billing Period and Thereafter.”

Q: Is a late-payment surcharge charged if monthly NHI premiums are not paid on time?
A: If an insured unit fails to pay NHI premiums by the prescribed deadline, a 15-day grace period is provided. If payment is still not made by the end of the grace period, a late-payment surcharge of 0.1% of the amount due is charged for each day from the day after the grace period ends until the day before payment is made. The late-payment surcharge for an insured unit is capped at 15% of the amount due.
