Question

Rules for Applying for Farmer Maternity Benefits

Answer
Q: How long do farmers have to apply for insurance benefits under farmer health insurance?
A: An application must be submitted within five years from the day after the insured event occurs. Benefits cannot be paid if the application is filed after a five-year period.

Q: If an insured person had paid the farmer health insurance premiums but owes premiums for the farmer occupational accident insurance, can they still apply for farmer health insurance benefits?
A: If the person is required to participate in the farmer occupational accident insurance, the Bureau of Labor Insurance will temporarily withhold payment of their Farmers Health Insurance benefits until the owed premiums are settled.

Q: What is the payment standard for farmers health insurance maternity benefits?
A: When the insured person or their spouse gives birth, a maternity benefit of TWD 61,200 (calculated as TWD 20,400 x 3 months) is provided.

Q: If an insured person under the farmer health insurance gives birth, can they receive both labor insurance and farmer health insurance maternity benefits at the same time?
A: No. Only one type of maternity benefit may be claimed.

Q: When the insured person’s spouse gives birth, can the insured apply for maternity benefits?
A: Yes. Farmers’ health insurance includes spousal maternity benefits, so the insured may apply for this benefit.
