Q: What are the eligibility requirements for claiming survivor pension payments under the National Pension program?
A:
  1. The insured person under the National Pension system passed away during the coverage period (before reaching age of 65).
  2. The insured person passed away while receiving old-age pension payments or disability pension payments.
  3. The insured person passed away after turning 65 but before applying for old-age pension payments.

Q: If the insured person has no surviving dependents, can someone else claim the benefit?
A: No. Only eligible surviving dependents who meet the claim requirements may receive the benefit.

Q: Who is eligible to claim survivor pension payments under the national pension program?
A: Eligible claimants, in order of priority, are not deceased person’s:
  1. Spouse and children
  2. Parents
  3. Grandparents
  4. Grandchildren
  5. Siblings

Q: Is meeting the eligibility requirements enough to claim Survivor Pension Payments?
A: Only the highest-priority eligible surviving dependent may claim the Survivor Pension Payments.

Q: Can the insured person designate a beneficiary for the Survivor Pension Payments?
A: No. The beneficiary of the Survivor Pension Payments cannot be designated by the insured person.
