Q: What is the Investor Pass?
A: The Investor Pass is a multiple-entry visa designed for business visitors and foreign investors to support their business endeavours, especially for those who have committed to investing in Malaysia through relevant investment agencies or authorities.

Q: Who can apply for the Investor Pass?
A: Foreign investors and business visitors seeking to apply for the Investor Pass must meet one of the three (3) categories listed below:
  1. New Investors - Individuals interested in investing who do not yet have any investment record in Malaysia.  
  2. Investors in the Pipeline – Potential investors who have shown interest, actively negotiating with the Malaysian Government, or have submitted project approval requests to MIDA.
  3. Existing Investors - Investors who have previously invested in Malaysia and own registered companies with SSM but are not employed by any Malaysian company.

Q: Can individuals apply for an Investor Pass while they are in Malaysia?
A: Those who wish to apply for the Investor Pass must be outside of Malaysia at the time of submitting their application.

Q: How long does the Investor Pass remain valid?
A: Investor Pass holders are allowed to enter Malaysia for a duration of six (6) months, with the possibility of an additional six (6) months extension based on the specific needs and justifications of the applicant. No extension beyond the 12-month period is allowed.

Q: Are individuals with an Investor Pass permitted to bring their family members along?
A: Individuals possessing the Investor Pass are prohibited from bringing dependents or applying for a Dependent Pass.
