Q:
Does a Taiwan Company need a local director?
A:
No, there are no restrictions on the nationality of shareholders and directors of the Taiwan Company. However, for the nationality of China, they could invest in companies in Taiwan in accordance with the regulation for investment from Mainland China.

Q:
Is there limitation of number of directors for the Taiwan Company?
A:
The Taiwan Company director shall have at least a director, and the maximum number of directors is three persons, and the chairman shall be elected among directors.

Q:
How is the director of the limited company being elected?
A:
The directors of the Taiwan Company are elected by shareholders. If the shareholder is a company, they could appoint someone to become the director of the company.

Q:
If the foreigner does not have the Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), could they become the shareholder or director of the Taiwan Company?
A:
Yes, if the foreigner does not have the ARC in Taiwan, they could use their passport.

Q:
Could the company name set up in English?
A:
The English company name can be registered, however, the name to be shown mainly and externally remains the Chinese Name.
