Unemployed individuals whose last city of insured is in Shenzhen can apply for unemployment subsidies if one of following criteria is met during the period from March 2020 to December 2020:
Unemployed individuals whose unemployment insurance benefits are terminated from March 2020 to December 2020 and still unemployed after the expiration of the payment period, can apply for unemployment subsidies from the month when the unemployment insurance benefits expire.
Unemployed individuals who resigned from Shenzhen employers (the termination of the insurance participation) between March 2020 and December 2020, and not eligible to receive insurance benefits (including unemployment insurance contributions for less than one year or their own willingness to resign), can apply unemployment subsidies.
Insured individuals who are currently employed and unemployed during the period from March 2020 to June 2020 may apply for reissuance of unemployment subsidy during the period of unemployment.

The standard of unemployment subsidy?

Eligible individuals can receive unemployment subsidies months each month (up to 6 months). Unemployed individuals who receive unemployment subsidies from March 2020 to June 2020 will enjoy temporary subsidies as required.
Unemployment subsidy payment standard is: not exceed 50% of the Shenzhen unemployment insurance standard (ie: RMB 990/month) if the unemployment insurance contribution in Shenzhen for more than 1 year (inclusive); not exceed 15% of the Shenzhen unemployment insurance standard (ie: RMB 297/month) if the unemployment insurance contribution in Shenzhen for less than 1 year.

Unemployment subsidies will be paid monthly from the month of the subsidy verification, and the social security department will pay the subsidy before the 25th of each month. For example, after verification, the payment period for Mr. Wang’s unemployment subsidy is from July to December, so Mr. Wang will receive the first unemployment subsidy around August 25.
