Argentina IP official fees increases

Instituto Nacional de la Propiedad Industrial (“INPI”) which is Argentina’s government agency responsible for the intellectual property rights of the said country. INPI Argentina have not updated their fees since 2019, which means they are outdated. Therefore, INPI has officially announced that there will be a raise to their official fees and will come in force staring from 1 January 2023.

New increase on Industrial Property rights official fees

The official fees for Trademarks, Patents and Designs will implement an adjustment of 220% in two stages:-
- A 110% increase from 1 January 2023, and
- A 110% increase from 1 March 2023.

The increase will be applied on top of the current fees.

Fees for filing new trademarks in Argentina

The fee for applying a new trademark in Argentina will cover up to 20 items of goods/and or services of the chosen class, while the applicant will have to pay an additional fee of US$0.07 from 20 items onwards.
