How many children can a couple have?
A:
Before the amendment, a couple are encouraged to give birth to two children.
After the amendment, a couple can have three children.

Q:
In addition to maternity leave, how many days of childbearing leave can female employees enjoy?
A:
Before the amendment, female employees can enjoy 30 days of rewarding childbearing leave; after the amendment, women can enjoy 60 days of extended childbearing leave.

Q:
How many days is childcare leave?
A:
Before the amendment, there wasn’t childcare leave.
After the amendment, couples who give birth according to the laws and regulations, are each entitled to a five-day childcare leave per year until their children reach the age of three. A year is calculated as the child reaches one full year of life.

Q:
Can the extended childbearing leave and childcare leave adjust allocation?
A:
The allocation of the extended childbearing leave and childcare leave may be adjusted by the couple with the consent of their respective authorities, enterprises, public institutions, social organizations, and other organizations. Childcare leave for a couple is no more than 10 working days in total.

Q:
How many days is paternity leave for men?
A:
Before the amendment, men can enjoy paternity leave for 15 days.
After the amendment, men still enjoy paternity leave for 15 days. Besides, if women voluntarily reduce their extended childbearing leave, the number of reduced leave could be enjoyed by their spouse as paternity leave accordingly.

Q:
What support measures for childbirth and upbringing have been added since the Regulation was amended?
A:
1.
It will improve the network of maternity and child health services, strengthen the standardized construction and management of maternity and child health service institutions and other medical and health institutions, and improve the convenience, standardization and quality of maternity services;
2.
It will establish a family rearing subsidy system related to the number of children;
3.
Families with a large number of minor children who apply for public rental housing can be included in the scope of priority allocation, and will be given appropriate consideration to the selection of housing type etc.
